A six-hour core real estate education course will be offered April 1 in Bloomington. The course is presented by the Realtors Land Institute in conjunction with the Central Illinois Board of Realtors, the Illinois School of Real Estate and the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. It runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DoubleTree, 10 Brickyard Drive in Bloomington.
The course — COR 1902, Illinois Mandatory Core No. 564004135 — fulfills the Illinois core continuing education requirement for licensed real estate brokers and managing brokers. It will be taught in a classroom format by instructor Norm Willoughby.
The program covers updates to the Real Estate License Act and related rules governing real estate practice in Illinois. Topics include agency relationships, written brokerage agreements, compensation disclosure, fair housing compliance, escrow and earnest money procedures, advertising rules and disciplinary actions.
The course focuses on consumer protection, regulatory compliance and ethical responsibilities for licensees. Instruction includes practical scenarios and current examples of violations and enforcement.
Cost is $175 and includes lunch.
