Chapter Government Relations Committee members Eric Schumacher, Nick Suess, and President-Elect Michael Lauher, pictured left to right in photo above, participated in Ag Legislative day in Springfield on March 13. We started with breakfast with other participants and legislators. We got a picture with House Ag Committee Minority Leader Charlie Meier (R-109), and we spoke with him informally at breakfast.
We listened to several speakers including Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, Senator Doris Turner (D-48), Ag Committee Chair, and Senator Win Stoller (R-37), Senate Ag Committee Minority Leader, Rep Sonya Harper (D-6), and Rep Charlie Meier, shown in photo at bottom..
We met privately and personally in the offices of three representatives: Brandun Schweizer, Charlie Meier, and Adam Niemurge. Discussing landowner issues including Estate tax, herbicide regulation, international land ownership in Illinois and more.
We ended with a visit to the capital building then headed back to our offices.
