Join Us – In Person!

Our annual in-person meeting is back for 2022! We hope you will join us January 26-28 in Springfield, Ill., for five great events packed with information for you and your clients. Here’s a closer look at our presenters for the week.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. We have reserved a block of rooms under the name “Illinois Society at the President Abraham Lincoln, 700 E. Adams Street, Springfield. A group rate is set at $115 double/single. Reservations for hotel rooms close on January 11, so we encourage you to make your arrangements early at this link.

2. Online Meeting Registration is open. REGISTER HERE. We’re working out some details to handle the Couples Registration for the Family Succession Planning Workshop on Friday. If you want to register by mail, you can do so at any time. Just complete this form and mail it to the ISPFMRA address on the form.

3. If you would like to attend the Family Succession Planning program on Friday with a guest, your guest must be registered through an ASFMRA member to receive the discounted rate. This program will be advertised and open to the public, but guests will only receive the special discount if you include them in your registration. You can do this by completing a registration form with your information that also includes their names on the form. All correspondence and registration confirmation information will be sent through you.

Wednesday, January 26

Springfield Plastics hosts an optional tour of its facilities at nearby Auburn. There’s no cost to participate, but registration is required for transportation and planning purposes. We will leave the hotel at 9 am and return by 1 pm for the start of the afternoon program.

Monica Neubauer, the Maverick Motivator, makes an encore performance, in-person this time, with 2 dynamic presentations: Funtentional Living and Negotiate with Confidence and Creativity.

Then, she will moderate a panel of three chapter members, each representing a different generation, on Communication and Expectations Across the Generations. Originally developed for our YPN members, these afternoon sessions will be open to any and all who want to be part of Monica’s presentation….her energy and delivery will be great fun…GUARANTEED!!

We’ll follow that up with a Beer and Wine Reception, with a TRADE TALK PREVIEW. Network with your colleagues and visit with our corporate sponsors at a complimentary wine and beer reception as Trade Talk provides an early access to our commercial sponsors.

Family Succession Planning Workshop
This is where you can step in and help start your clients down the road that should be taken by all at some time….invite your clients to attend this half-day workshop (at a special, reduced price as your guests). This special program is being produced in conjunction with Farm Financial Strategies & Next Generation Ag Advocates. While it won’t provide all the answers, it will give all an idea of what questions to ask as they make their own succession plans. Speakers will include Mike Downey, Bob Rhea, CEO of Illinois FBFM, and Kristine Tidgren, director of the Iowa State University Center for Ag Law and Taxation.
